FUN FACTS ABOUT FIRENZE (FLORENCE)
The "secret corridor" is the Vasari Corridor, a level walkway that connects the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti, crossing the Ponte Vecchio. It was built by Giorgio Vasari in 1565, to allow the rulers to move between the two palaces without being seen by the public.
The corridor is about 750 meters long. It passes through the Uffizi Galleries and goes up the Lungarno Archibusieri. It crosses the Ponte Vecchio and continues towards Oltrarno, passing by the church of Santa Felicita and Palazzo Guicciardini. It ends in two places: the Boboli Gardens and Palazzo Pitti.
