About Me
Born in Somerset, UK I initially studied art at City of Bath College. I have been painting professionally since 2009. My love for the coast and water is clear in my enchanting and evocative coastal scenes. I work with a wide range of materials including pen and ink, wood stain, acrylics and varnishes. I attach collage materials such as sheet music, vintage maps, botanical diagrams and newspaper cuttings to large canvases and use these as a background to my paintings, giving a sense of history and storytelling to my work. The viewer initially sees a coastal scene or landscape, and then on closer inspection finds a whole world of text and illustration lying beneath the painting. I now divide my time between the studio, walking my faithful dog, sketching and photography, as well as many watersports.
I have exhibited my paintings at many art fairs and exhibitions around the world including London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and the Hampton.
Also many UK galleries now exhibit my original artwork including: Clarendon Fine Art and Quantum Contemporary art.
